Abstract:
Auditory experiments were conducted to establish criteria for heavy-weight floor impact noise corresponding to statements describing living sensibilities in multi-story residential buildings. Selected sentences explaining the various situations exposed to heavy-weight floor impact sounds recorded using an impact ball were matched with wide range of annoyance levels, then the matched annoyance level was evaluated using 7-point scale for equal-appearing interval between the statements. Consequently, criteria for heavy-weight floor impact sounds corresponding to the perception of annoyance were provided.
