Abstract:
The article represents an applied research of seismic and vibration resistance
equipment by VUJE, a. s. and its associate the Slovak University of Technology in
Bratislava. The research is carried out within the project of the Agency of the
Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic for the
Structural Funds of EU (Agency) titled “Nuclear Facilities Safety Enhancement in
Case of Seismic Event”. In particular, the article describes how the equipment
response to excitation changes is verified (change of floor response spectra due
to earthquake, change of excitation course); the equipment response to damping
changes (damping of oscillation during seismic event); further, it renders
verification of typical equipment through testing and comparison with the results
reached by virtually designed typical equipment. It does not omit an assessment
of the results of the virtually designed typical equipment compared to those
accomplished on a single-line oscillation simulator, and as well on intended
triaxial oscillation simulator. The paper continues with a summary of seismic and
vibration effects.
