Abstract:
The absorption of most current materials can be predicted by models type TMM (Transfert Matrix Model) using JCAL (Johnson Champenoux Allard Lafarge) characterization including the mechanical stiffness parameter introduced by Biot theory. This article is validating those models to a different type of panel which is not polymers foam or typical mineral wool products. The product is a panel made of wood fibers bound together by cement. The particularity of those panels is to have bigger diameters and longer fibers than classical mineral wool fibers. To improve the sound absorption, the panels are sometimes laminated with mineral wool and in this case also the model can predict correctly the sound absorption when it compare with Laboratory measurements.
